Employee wellness is an important element of creating healthier work environments. Proactive initiatives such as subsidised flu vaccines are part of supporting our employees to stay healthy and well.
Another element is work-related health. Work can impact on workers' mental or physical health, and their health may in turn impact on their safety at work, or the safety of others.

In this edition we provide an update on COVID-19 activities as well as our key projects - Identifying critical risks, and our collaboration with WorkSafe to coordinate industry feedback on draft guidelines for Managing site traffic, and Reversing and spotting of vehicles.

We also introduce you to our Steering Group members with an update on the progress of our Working Groups.

Well, what a start to 2021! As the country looked to be making a strong recovery in the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic,

Auckland has seen a number of community cases emerge. As a result, retail workers have been tested and quarantined and we are again reminded of the impact of COVID-19 on our supply chain.

Since ShopCare officially launched in October 2019,  we have made significant inroads into bringing the industry together with a continued commitment to enhance the safety, health and wellbeing of all employees and to reduce workplace incidents and injuries.
